With the rapid development of network and the wide use of J2EE platform, themultilayer Web structure base on B/S becomes the mainstream of the Webapplication. But, there are still several disadvantages like low software reusabilityand fussy maintenance etc. Therefore, how to organize software by using a betterarchitecture, good design patterns and reusable framework in developing Webapplication has become one of hot spots in the development of Internet technologyand a field that is well worth studying. These are two development modes about Web application based on the J2EEplatform, the traditional development mode and the mode based on MVC pattern. The latter has the advantage that meet effectively the design requirements in themore and more complex Web application by separating interface logic and businesslogic. So it has become the first choice for developers in Web applicationdevelopment.Struts is one of the most popular frameworks in Web applications which appliesa MVC pattern to JSP Model2. The interface and business logic are forciblyseparated in Struts, that is helpful to dividing the work of the Web pages design andprogram design, improving the reusability and agility of the codes and is easy tocomponent-based development.J2EE architecture is introduced firstly and MVC pattern is also analyzed. Thearchitecture, how to apply MVC, work flow, developing process and Strutscomponents of Struts framework are introduced in detail via discussions on keytechnology, which had been employed in implementing the ManagementInformation System of Reimbursement in Socialized Medicine based on Struts. Withthese the system is easy to expand, maintain and cross platform.
