Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is collections of wireless mobile nodes constructed dynamically without the use of any existing network infrastructure or centralized administration. In MANET, each mobile node operates not only as a host but also as a router. In application, MANET can be built rapidly and easy, which can be used for emergency search, disaster rescue and so forth. Consequently, MANET takes on widespread application foreground.Because of the rapid changing of network topology, the conventional routing protocol can not adapt the environment. It becomes the main subject for routing protocol in MANET. At present, a number of routing protocols like Dynamic Source Routing (DSR), Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing (AODV), Destination-Sequenced Distance-Vector (DSDV) and Temporally Ordered Routing Algorithm (TORA) have been implemented. In this paper an attempt has been made to compare the performance of two prominent on-demand reactive routing protocols for mobile ad hoc networks: DSR and AODV, along with the traditional proactive DSDV protocol. A simulation model with MAC and physical layer models is used to study their performance implications. In this paper, several estimate schemes also are discussed. As an important way to improve the stableness of Ad Hoc, it is significant for the research of routing protocols using estimate schemes in Ad Hoc. At first, a group of parameters are abstracted to describe the mobility of nodes, based on several typical mathematical models, the link availability is known at any time. In routing process, the protocol predicts the link availability and achieves the path availability, then it finds a steady path in all path which connect the source node and the destination node. The protocol can increase the rate of data successful delivery under the circumstance with networks topology rapid changing. In this paper, a protocol base on link prediction is given, and a number of performance metrics are evaluated using NS2 simulations.
