P2P and SIP are two of those most popular technologies at present. There are not any centralized servers in a P2P system. The P2P system's self-organization, high scalability, robustness and fault tolerance features bring a revolution of compute pattern to the whole IT world. At the same time, SIP protocol is also becoming more and more popular both in the current Internet communication systems and IT industries. It is now gradually becoming the key protocol of NGN and 3G Multimeida subsystem, and might become one of the most important protocols for communication system and signal controlling system in the near future.How to combine these two technoligies together and make use of their advantages is an important goal for many research institutes, some of these research institutes have done a lot of work on the development of P2P-SIP system. However, so far there are still not any standards for IT industries. This paper will do a widely discussion on it.Firstly this paper gives a brief introduction on P2P and SIP, and discusses their advantages and disadvantages respectively. Then it introduces two existing P2P-SIP system, SIPPEER and SOSIMPLE, analyses its structure, performance and implementation, and proposed a Proxy-based P2P-SIP communication system model base on the former analysis.Then the paper gives a detail description on this P2P-SIP scheme from requirement analysis, framework design, function characteristic and message system aspects, and also gives a simulative demo.Finally, it depicts the integration test of the system, analyzes the performance under the allowed enviorment, and summarizes the system.
