The network was not designed for move in the early period. Because the wireless network is flourishing and the hold-device is getting popular, users start to require accessing network anywhere at any time. A lot of wireless accessing technologies in which WLAN is a major are proposed. We can access Internet wirelessly in a WLAN. But there is an evident problem that we can only access the Internet when located in its domain. If moving outside domain or between different IP subnet, mobile node will change its IP and the connection will be down. In order to solve this problem, Mobility Management (MM) is introduced to manage the wireless link resource, to make sure during moving the IP address will remain and Internet service will keep. Until now, many schemes of MM are proposed in which Mobile IP and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) from IETF is especially discussed by most experts. In this paper, we first studied the concept of Mobility Management, the relationship between MM and wireless access. After that we deeply discussed the popular MM including Macro-mobility and Micro-mobility, analyzed the corresponding MM schemes especially MIP, SIP and hybrid-MIP/SIP architecture. In order to resolve the low efficiency problem of hybrid-MIP/SIP architecture, we gave the interacting MIP/SIP scheme a detailed discuss and analysis from the views of principle and numerical results.According to the result we believe that the proposed interacting architecture scheme can evidently reduce the delay and overhead and improve the whole network performance greatly.
