Hardware Design And Implementation Of X-Ray Thickness Gauge

The uniformity of Film thickness is the most important quality target of biaxial oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film. In the film product line, thickness is measured and controlled by non-contact thickness gauges and feedback control system. A new type of equipment for measurement on-line is raised in this paper and it has been applied on BOPP product line with good effect.First of all, the thesis introduce on and off line measurement technique used in industry production briefly and analyzes the advantage and disadvantage of all kinds of thickness gauges thoroughly. X-ray has been used as the radial source of the thickness gauge. The paper analyses principle of X-ray emission and reception. Besides, the practice has proved that C&K measurement arithmetic could satisfy factory demand.Then, design of probe of thickness gauge is the key proportion to achieve the whole system. We make up of scan probe by integrating the X-ray detector, refrigeration element and power supply system. This paper has explained the design theory and method of realization particularly. At the same time, we ordinarily introduce supporting frame and the operation of thickness measurement system. The paper has introduced principle and method of electric control system based on PLC. The system has high reliability and measuring accuracy. Method of data collection, data processing and algorithm has been concerned and we can understand the significance of system-calibration, zero adjustment and mechanical correction by operating the system.Finally, the theses briefly introduce running interface and real time status display, history report printing, failure record function. The whole system has been used on BOPP production line and its measuring result and controlling effect of film product has also been explained in the paper. We can conclude that this X-ray thickness gauge has good commercial value.
