Virtual reality technology which is the modern computer technology build a similar objective environment, make people immerse inside and let people free to control. There are two methods of the virtual scene rendering, respectively is Image Based Rendering (IBR) and Model Based Rendering (MBR). With the development of computer images and graphics technology, the construction of virtual scene has gained obvious effect, but building complex and large-scale virtual scene is still an arduous and time-consuming work. This paper represents the real scene objects virtually and processes fast, calculates, synthesizes object or shows the virtual scene on computer screen by using the point, surface and volume as the basic elements of objects. It also analyzes and compares the rendering quality, storage efficiency, rendering properties and so on. Rendering technology researches how to transform combine geometric model into visual image. The mainly contents of this paper as follows:(1)Point is the most basic, simple geometric entity. There are three rendering methods introduced in this paper, respectively quality, efficiency and adaptive hybrid The thesis tries to find a method to balance the quality and speed of rendering.(2)Surface rendering technique extracts surface of objects from volume data, render it using the method of graphics, and finally obtains image . The thesis introduces three kinds of surface rendering algorithms which are MC algorithm, MT algorithm and MP algorithm.(3)There are mainly introduced the ray casting method, footprint table algorithm, shear deformation algorithm and the volume element projection method. Because each rendering algorithm has different principles, the rendering speed, the quality and the demands hardware configuration of realize rendering are not the same. This paper compares various algorithms by experimental results so that people can choose relatively suitable rendering algorithms in accordance with the complexity of the scene and objects, the needs of the users and illumination condition.
