FPGA-based intelligent car controls and inspects the remote working area, dangerous working area by local computer through the Internet. The intelligent car is one of intelligent walking robots, it can adapt to different environments, not affects by temperature, humidity, space, magnetic field radiation, the effects of gravity and other conditions. It can complete the exploratory missions which the humanity is unable to carry on. It can apply to the national defense and civil fields. The entire system is based on the car which controlled remotely. We can collect images through the camera on the car. We also can detect environmental temperature by infrared thermometer. It has some kind of intelligence. The best advantage of the system is the car can be controlled through Internet, so it is important to the development for the humanity's scientific research, the exploration unknown areas and the remote monitoring.The paper proposed a FPGA-based intelligent remote control car design on the basis of studying SOPC and Embedded Operating System. Using FPGA to realize this design, we may fully use the existing IP cores, the system has the advantages of easy functional expansion, low-cost design, faster time to market, convenient revision. Even we can reconstruct system remotely. Comparing with the SCM, FPGA has many advantages, such as high integration, high stability, ease of maintenance and debugging.The paper is including: designed the hardware system of intelligent car, in field programmable chip (FPGA), built construction of a Nios II soft-core CPU and configured the SPI, serial and Ethernet interface module and Driver. TransplantedμClinux operating system on the hardware system, configured Embedded Web Server, wrote CGI procedures, designed dynamic web, built the lane detection module in DSP Builder and simulated in the Matlab software, wrote image acquisition procedure, temperature measurement procedure and car controlling procedure. Finally test the system, realize the long-distance monitoring through internet.
