With the continuous development of the infrared imaging technology, the infrared detection has been more and more widely applied in the aerospace, the electron, the petrochemical industry, the construction and many other fields. The applications demand for the higher and higher quality of the infrared imaging. And the volume of the detection equipment becomes smaller and smaller. However, because of the limitations of factors such as dynamic range, the resolution ratio of scenery and noise characteristics, has limited the infrared thermal imagery system prominent performance merit, the advantages of infrared detection can not be brought into full play. So it is necessary to design a real-time image processing system in order to improve the quality of the infrared images and enhance the detection performance rapidly. In order to improve the quality of the infrared images further, It is an urgent task to research the high-efficient, practical, succinct real-time processing system of infrared images.The performance and efficiency of Infrared detection corresponds with the quality of the infrared image. Infrared image acquisition system can get better Realization base on DSP. This paper describes the design of an infrared image acquisition system, for the overall design, It introduce that code scheme of infrared image, diagram of hardware design and software design level of system.Infrared image acquisition system is the post-processing part and it has an essential influence on the quality of imaging. This paper's design has taken TI Corporation's TMS320C5402 digital signal processor as the core processor. This paper hardware circuit including acquisition circuit, the I/O circuit, the memory circuit, USB correspondence circuit, monitoring circuit, power circuit and so on. In this paper, some key technologies of the hardware design were explained, and realizion process of the circuit's function of the system was introduced detail.System software was designed with C and the compilation. Configuration of register system and DCT using assembly, the main program using C. Software will be optimized to improve the efficiency of the procedures. System software divides into four parts, include DSP control procedures, JPEG compression algorithm procedures, USB firmware and USB Driver. Use the DSP to optimized DCT algorithm Directly, Reduce the time of the infrared image compression and improve the system's overall performance.In an application of the design process, the debugging and testing is a very important. This related to an application system can run normal, or stable and reliable. After repeated testing and debugging, the entire system can operation stable and reliable.Finally, this paper summarizes its work and submitted its paper characteristics, but also advantages and disadvantages of the entire system.
