With the development of wireless sensor networks, people have not only been satisfied with gathering information from the physical world, but also paid more and more attention to perform appropriate actions fleetly and efficiently upon the environment. Therefore, based on the wireless sensor networks, the wireless sensor and actor networks is made up by importing some actors(such as robot ,AGV,and so on). In wireless sensor and actor networks, sensors gather information about the physical world, while actors make decisions and complete anticipation actions. At present, at the threshold of the research on wireless sensor and actor networks, it is confronted with many problems, such as the coordination of sensors and actors, protocol stack, the model for network colony, and so on.In this paper, the coordination framework for wireless sensor and actor networks is discussed and researched. The problems of coordination include the effective coordination of sensors and sensors, the effective coordination of sensors and actors, and the effective coordination of actors and actors. Becasue about the coordination of sensors and sensors, many valuable results have already exist on the field of wireless sensor networks that could be used for reference, this paper emphasize on discussing the latter two problems. Towards the coordination of sensors and actors, an arithmetic based on an event-driven clustering paradigm is discussed, in order to find out data aggregation trees from all the sensors that discover the events to the appropriate actors. In each cluster, the problem is about task assignment, in other words, towards the coordination of actors and actors, an arithmetic based on contract net protocol is proposed. Finally, a network model and simulations are builded for the above-mentioned design with the OPNET Modeler. And the network model includes defining the packet formats, wireless channel modeling, founding the process model, node model, and network model. By analyzing the simulation results, the results indicate that the model is according to the requirement of the design.Because of the characteristic of wireless sensor and actor networks, these networks can be used in wide fileds, such as industry automatization, agriculture production, microclimate-control in buildings, battlefield surveillance, home automation and environment monitoring. Therefore, doing research on this field has grave significance, we will keep on struggling.
