Arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) is widely used in communications, radar, and electronic testing. People pay more and more attention on it. AWG can beused easily and flexibly, which give the engineer greatly convenience in debuggingand testing. This dissertation is based on the research work of AWG. Considering CPCI bus'scharacteristics of high-speed, easy management, reliability, opening, stability andexcellent compatibility, the design used CPCI bus in AWG, so as to the AWG can beused to produce linear frequency modulation signals for radar and other board-bandsignals used in communications or other system testing. Also it can be used in radarantagonizing and pointed or distributed targets simulating.Based on others' previous research work, we present a new design of replacingdiscrete components by high-integrated FPGA. Also we developed a high-speed AWGpowered by CPCI bus. The upper conversion speed can achieve 1.2Gsps. Theadvantages of this equipment include its compact structure, reliable performance andhigh operating efficiency. Also it can provide two channels of orthogonal signals.Besides achieving the prospective design specifications, the hardware design andframework are universal and valuable in both theory and practice.
