In modern industrial applications, 3-D measurement technology has been the hotspot in the measurement area. Structured light 3-D measurement is more widely used in manufacturing because of its following characters: high precision, easy to abstract the information from laser stripe image and strong real-time ability, etc. In Structured-light Visual Inspection System, the processing and calculating of the structure light image is one of the key tasks of detection.With the background of practical projects, this dissertation has carried out research deeply on the key problems of laser stripe image processing. The key problems affect the measurement accuracy of the measurement system directly.Structured light visual inspection is a measurement technique with structured light image and the controllable light source. In Structured-light Visual Inspection System, the key of ensuring accuracy is to be able to identify the laser center at each sampling location accurately. To achieve the requirements of the real-time ability, accuracy and stability, the paper has analyzed and processed the laser stripe image. Many methods of laser stripe abstract are discussed in the paper. On the base of summing up the existed laser stripe abstract methods, the paper presents a method to process the structural light image, and analyzed the errors combining the concrete application. Using this method, the sub-pixel accuracy of the light stripes center extraction can be achieved.In this paper, software design of the processing of the laser stripe image is finished. Through practical application, this method operates stably and can meet the requirements of the measurement system.
