| Video On Demand is always abbreviated to VOD, which means users can get any data of video or audio at any time from servers or server groups. It is a new kind of interactive media application, because videos include many contents that pictures and texts can't provide, which could offer much more and better information. Currently, VOD has been so widely used in education, amusement and training that the study for VOD has realistic significance.Firstly, the characters of streaming media and typical architecture of current VOD system are analysed. The theories relating to VOD system and the protocols used in streaming media transport are studied in detail. Meanwhile, applied ranges and using format of these protocols and coding method used in streaming media technique are also studied. Network transport protocol's support situation for coding technique is discussed.Then research ideas of streaming media schedule technique, which influences user numbers and server response time, and the mathematics model of streaming media schedule are given. Current main schedules arithmetics which include Patching Arithmetic, Greedy Patching Arithmetic, Grace Patching Arithmetic and Period Patching Arithmetic are discussed. The merits and demerits of these arithmetics are analysed at the same time. A new Arithmetic based on Period Patching Arithmetic is put forward and arithmetic emulator is set up. Experiment is carried out and results are contrasted and analysed.Finally, implementation part of VOD is expatiated. Main contents conclude: analysis of LiveMedia library structure, relations among different structures and inherit relations of some classes; how to use LiveMedia develop a basic VOD is discussed and partial codes and program flow charts are given; how to cooperate with other develop tools to develop client software is indicated. |
