The fast development of computer and communication technology,especially rapid popularization of Internet and syncretism acceleration of 3C(Computer,Communication,Consume Electric),make embedded system turn into the mainstream of information industry.The applications of embedded system deal with various aspects of computer subject,such as network system, intelligent appliance,3G application and automobile electronics.Along with the increasing demand of market for numeral amusement function request to new car,multimedia system on vehicle,being a branch of automobile electronics,gradually becomes a study hotspot.The project is originated from Supervision and Orientation System on Vhicle,which is an item of ZTE communication study fund and keystone scientific research fund in Hefei City.After repeat comparisions,successfully migrated condensed embedded Linux operation system to ARM microprocessor hardware platform.Integrating technique of touchscreen,shift storage and multimedia,primarily has realized motive multimedia video and audio system on vehicle.The main purpose of the article is to study how to migrate Linux to an ARM chip,following this step is to develop multimedia application program.First of all,the trait of embedded system are summarized,the structure of Linux in embedded application system and the main task in platform migrating process are anatomized.And then on the basis of S3C2410X structure analysis,the article detailedly introduced whole process of the migration,from designing cross-building environment and bootloader migration to migrating Linux 2.6 kernel and RAMDISK file system,finally have constructed a well development platform for the execution of sequential item.The article then described the realization of driver in 2.6 kernel,make an example of LCD and sound driver,detailedly introduced the whole process of driver development.In the end,for the realization of multimedia function of multimedia video and music system on vehicle,used MiniGUI to develop graphic user interface for the demand of motion terminal,accomplished the migration and optimization of Mplayer,has successfully realized playing diversiform video and audio format.
