The conventional testing methods have big labor intensity, the speed slow and maybe create damages. The infrared thermal imaging testing technique is one kind of new technology that does not have damages in the examination. It has some unique superiority such as non-contact, fast, accurate, direct-viewing and so on. It transform into the obviously thermal image that comes from the infrared radiation with the aid of the infrared thermal imaging system through the thermal image characteristic analysis resting on three intrinsic relations of the object the infrared radiation-surface temperature-materials behavior. Then, we can infer the aim that whether there is defect in it.Infrared thermal imaging testing can be widely used to test object's inner defect, but in China the study is at a preliminary stage and the testing theory of this field is far from complete. So, it is of great significance to study infrared non-destructive testing. In this paper, we take testing the inner hole in concrete as an example, discuss the relationship between surface temperature difference and concrete inner hole by means of image process, the finite element numerical simulation, it provides theoretical foundation for project application. Details are listed below:1. Summarize the methods of testing concrete with none destruction and introduce the infrared thermal imaging technique in detail.2. Analyze the characters of infrared thermal images and deal with them combining to the thermal imaging theory. The infrared thermal images meet the practical demands of testing after the necessary processes such as average, smoothing, edge extraction.3. Depict the finite element theory and conductive problem's finite element method simply; Based on the heat exchange theory, combined with the properties of infrared testing the numerical analysis of infrared testing are expatiated and numerical simulation project are presented. The software of finite element method—ANSYS has been applied in the quantitative study of infrared testing successfully. Using this method, the distance between surface and defect can be calculated.
