Mobile Wireless Ad hoc network is a kind of special and temporary self-organized network, which is composed of a collection of mobile wireless terminal units with wireless receive and dispatch device and without the use of any existing network infrastructure or any centralized administration. Mobile Ad hoc network originated from military scenario, but because of its fast deployment, low cost and completely distributed configuration, it is also applied in some civilian scenario and business scenario quickly. At the same time, due to the insecure nature of the wireless link, their dynamically changing topology and the resource poorness of its nodes, there are various security challenges faced in Ad hoc network, which seriously limits the development and application of this network. The security solutions for conventional networks are usually not sufficient to provide efficient Ad Hoc operations. We have to focus on the characteristics and security threats of mobile Ad hoc network and design specialized secure routing mechanism for it.In this thesis, the safety threat of mobile Ad hoc network is introduced firstly. The security issues and many typical attacks are studied in detail. Then we discuss the current research on secure protocols where in-depth analysis is given to several excellent secure routing strategies and schemes, including their work principles and peculiarities. Based on this success, a new secure routing protocol, a Bidirectional Authenticated Secure Routing protocol (BASR) is proposed This protocol combines with some basic techniques of AODV protocol and DSR protocol and need no on-line Certification Authority (CA) support. BASR with easy-operation,practicability and robustness, can meet the need of participating in the network freely. In order to estimate the validity and feasibility of BASR, a simulation is done under Windows platform and OMNet++3.0 simulator, and its result come to an anticipant effect basically. In addition, after lucubrate analysis of some representative attacks in Ad hoc network, such as black-hole attack, gray-hole attack and worm-hole attack, this thesis brings forward a method of prevention of Black-Hole attacks using Worm-Holes theories. This method checks black-hole nodes by encapsulating routing control packets into data packets, so that it can be transplanted to other on-demand routing protocol easily. We also give a simulation by OMNet++3.0 using AODV protocol.
