Research On SHDSL Router

SHDSL (Single-pair high-speed digital subscriber line) is a kind of technologies which provides duplex and symmetric data transmissions over twisted metallic pair. Optional four-wire operation is supported for extended applications. SHDSL is capable of supporting selected symmetric user data rates in the range of 192 kbps to 2312 kbps using TC-PAM (Trellis Coded Pulse Amplitude Modulation) and is suitable for commercial users who need symmetrical speed. This thesis describes some basic knowledge of SHDSL, including the reference model of SHDSL transceiver unit and the applications of SHDSL, describes embedded system and gives the design of the SHDSL router. And then, this thesis describes the hardware platform used to implement the SHDSL transceiver unit. A software platform is established and the methods of developing softwares on this platform are studied. At last, this thesis describes serial programming for embedded operating systems, gives the software design and test modes of the SHDSL transceiver unit's implementation.
