Internet, as a cheap transmission medium, is used to transmit voice during its developing. The development of the WLAN(Wireless Local Area Networks) has made the using of WLAN in VoIP(Voice over IP) attract people's attention. WiFi phone is one kind of terminals of this application. After several years' development, the application of WiFi technology has been the focus of the research on the design communication system.The paper, based on the study of the working principle of the WiFi phone, proposes a design of the RF module of a WiFi phone which works on the frequency of 2.4GHz, including the evaluation of the scheme, the choice of the ICs and so on. After the design of the circuits of the RF module, the measurement and the debug of the circuits are included to reach the purpose of the design.Firstly, the chipset is chosen after evaluating some kinds of chipsets. The RF circuits and peripheral circuits are researched and designed secondly. Then come the measurement and the debug of the circuits. Finally the conclusion is achieved.The main content of the paper is composed of three parts. The first part is the introduction of the theory knowledge, including the principle of the VoIP, WLAN, VoWLAN and WiFi. Then the design of the RF module is presented as the second part, which includes the design of the peripheral circuits. The last one is the measurement of the RF system.
