Implementation Of SSO In Enterprise Portal Application

As the development of information technology and Network technology, there are more applications in use now and user has to login to various different applications. User needs to remember multiple user id and password for these applications. If there are different user directory systems for different system, the cost of system administration and support will increase extremely. If a SSO solution is deployed, the user only need clarify himself/herself once when he/she first access the resource, and then he/she can access all the resource which have been entitled to him/her without re-authentication. SSO can simplify user operations, improve user experiences and reduce the cost of development and administration.This paper first gives a simple introduction of access control, single sign-on, and then describes the existing SSO solutions. At last, it analyzes the SSO requirement on an existing online information delivery system based on IBM WebSphere platform, introduce how to design and implement the SSO solution provided by eTrust SiteMinder.
