With the increasing demand of discrete semiconductors, especially the transistors, it is very significant to develop new types of discrete semiconductor testing systems. Cooperating with the Changjiang Elec.Tech, our laboratory finished the project of developing a new generation of discrete semiconductor testing system and made a good achievement. The technical problems referring to the redesigning of hardware and software of the kernel mainboard of testing equipment are studied in this paper in order to provide reference for the further development and perfection of the testing equipment.According to the technical status quo of the former transistor testing equipment developed by our laboratory, a new formation of it is put forward in this paper after analysing the application and research trend of embedded system. This formation is desingned to realize the local display and embedded web server on the testing system with advanced ARM processor and uClinux embedded OS, so as to further realize the distributed testing system based on LAN. The key technologies needed in realizing the target are analysed in this paper. In hardware, the kernel testing and control mainboard based on the embedded peocessor-ARM S3C4510B is redesigned including the expanding of LCD interface. And the generating mode of the system bus signal of the former testing equipment is improved with CPLD technology according to the characters of the new microprocessor and so does the performance of the testing system based on it.In software, the uClinux embedded OS is still adopted and transplanted to this embedded system with some proper modification for the software compatibility. Under uClinux environment, the software of the LCD module is designed to realize the simple but practical function of local LCD display. As one of the main targets of this paper, the function of web server of this embedded system is developed and a primary success of it is made.In this paper, the detailed technical problems referring to the realization of the mentioned targets such as the establishing of the developing environment, the debugging based on JTAG, the downloading of target board software and the crosscompiling enviroment based on the host PC etc. are also decribed and the realization of the development and running of user application and the embedded web server under the uClinux environment is stated.In the end, a conclusion of this paper and an expectation of the project are made.
