As one kind of wireless communication techniques which can provide higher transmit data rate while with lower cost, fewer power consumption, Ultra WideBand (UWB) has attracted much attention and has become the next hot field in the wireless communication research and develop fields, which has been considered as one of the key techniques in the next generation of wireless communication. As one of the two mainly proposed physical layer schemes for indoor high date rate wireless communication UWB system, the Multiple Band Time Frequency Interleave Orthogonal Frequency Division Modulation (MB-TFI-OFDM) scheme has the following advantages comparing with Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access(DS-CDMA):first, higher spectrum utility, which is helpful to achieve higher date rate communication; second, lower complexity of channel equalization and synchronization receiver, which is helpful to implement lower cost transceiver. This theis firstly focuses on the study of simultaneously operating piconets performance, which includes system performance and the interfering performance of piconets in MB-TFI-OFDM UWB system. Secondly, a novel Dual Time Frequency Code (DTFC) is proposed for MB-TFI-OFDM UWB system, which divides the unit band with 528 MHz bandwidth of the Single Time Frequency Code(STFC)proposed by TI Corp. into two equal unit bands with both of them being 264 MHz bandwidth. Comparing with TI's STFC, DTFC has the following advantages:first, it has more flexible spectrum resource allocation and is easier to implement due to the half unit bandwidth; second, the system can support more simultaneously operating piconets due to the more bands used and novel algorithm with the condition that the interfering between any two piconets being fixed. For the short distance and low power wireless communication system, the environment can be covered better with more supported piconets.
