Intrusion tolerance(IT) is a new approach of information security that has slowly emerged during the past decade, and gained impressive focus recently. Instead of trying to prevent every single intrusion, they are allowed, but tolerated. The intrusion tolerance system that prevent the intrusion from generating more system security failure, reconfigure the system to provide normal or graceful degradation service for users. The dissertation describes the fundamental concepts and mechanisms of instrusion tolerance systems, identifies classes of intrusion-tolerant architectures and discusses the main technologies for architecting intrusion tolerance systems. After discussing the SITAR, we promote the module of adaptive reconfiguration based on it. We also give detail description of the functions and designs of the module using bionics theoryAs a core technology, we suggest a way to find the suitable hash function by neutral network and genetic algorithms. The dissertation gives the detail mechanism of it and an example. Finally we discuss the open issues and challenging problems of the adaptive reconfiguration system for the future research.
