With the development of semantic web technologies, more and more ontology knowledge bases are constructed for knowledge sharing and domain usage. In order to retrieval information from such knowledge bases, users have to user formal queries. However, ordinary users rarely use the simplest Boolean query, not mention the complex logic expression. Therefore, how to build a natural language interface to bridge the gap between ordinary users and the formalized ontology knowledge bases and enable them to user formal knowledge freely is a meaningful research topic. It can both help the users and enlarge the effect of ontology knowledge and semantic web technologies. In order to help users to express their information need in natural language they are familiar with and retrieval information from ontology knowledge bases, this paper proposes a framework and implemented system for natural language interface based on the existing semantic web technologies. The system introduces the combination of deep and shallow syntax analysis methods. With the help of WordNet, a lexicon is built automatically when an ontology knowledge base is chosen. The lexicon assists the mapping between users'words and the entities in the ontology. The deep syntax processor translates the syntax tree generated by NLP parsers into query triples. And...
