The Development Of Mobile Phone Application Software On BREW Platform

The BREW(Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless) technology developed by the Qualcomm is an integrated solution of mobile service operation. The technology made it possible for mobile phone to download and run new software from the wireless network.The BREW's concept, emergence, developing background, systematic structure and running mechanism are introduced by the first part of the paper. Meanwhile, its advantages are expatiated from different angles. Then the BREW's developing and running environment is dissertated. Some important and most often happening problems in the development of the BREW are analyzed. And some improving and optimizing methods are put forward. The BREW's practicing process in its development is depicted by the last part of the paper, through the example of multimedia player project.
