Research On Congestion Control Strategy Based On Active Network

With the development of technology, Internet has become inevitable part of people's everyday life. But the traditional network based on TCP/IP face a lot of challenges. These challenges come from the requirements of heterogeneity, Quality-of-Service, Mobility, extensibility and security. So Active Network is put forward to meet these requirements.Active Network is a new type of network model which is known from the traditional network passive transmitted data. The active characteristic can be shown of two sides: node can calculate the data flowing cross it and users can insert customized program into the net. The Active Network enhances the performance of network in several aspects and congestion control is a focus application.This paper analyzes the congestion control mechanism of the traditional network and also the TCP congestion control algorithm. After integrate with the characteristic of the Active Network, a congestion control algorithm is proposed based on the Active Network congestion control model. The algorithm uses the feedback information of the receiver and can response quickly to the network statement. It can prevent and release congestion control comparatively quickly. Finally, the thesis proves some performance of this algorithm is better than some congestion control algorithm of traditional network by academic analysis and software simulation.
