Along with the rapid development of communications and computer technologies, remote data collection has been relatively good solution. As compared with cable method, Wireless Remote Data Collection has more advantages in electricity, water, public security, oil, transportation and etc. It can be saved and be queried without geographical environment, climate, and time limit, and has been used in electricity, water, public security, transportation, oil, Security and etc. Because of difficulties in communication infrastructure construction and complexity, it is limited in development. With the rapid development of mobile communication technology, Chinese Mobile continual pushes business of data transmission, and prices continue to drop. Because of GPRS, wireless data transmission platform is used more and more in long-distance data transmission and long-distance data collection.GPRS for data collection and transmission business can successfully solve these problems. Firstly, GPRS is cheap. On line with GPRS, Charges user when data transmission. After establishing link, data transmission is reliable by using TCP/IP. And data transmit by secure protocol of TCP/IP. In a word, now it is better way of data collection by GPRS, due to more advanced and cheap. This paper's purpose is designing a wireless remote data collection system based on GPRS network.Firstly, this paper introduced basic theory and network structure. Secondly, this paper detailedly analysed MC35i GPRS module and ETR186 CPU, and telled of link model between ETR186 of MC35i in-depth. Thirdly, this paper introduced process that GPRS module log on GPRS network and using way on AT command. In the end, this paper emphatically described network ptotocol in GPRS; they are PPP, IP and TCP. This paper detailedly introduced ptotocol data format and alternation rules. On the basis of the above theory, this paper points how to come true.This system is small in size, low price, high reliability characteristics, and has richly interface circuit. To develop further base on the system, it can satisfy all kinds of mobile data transmission applications this needs strong, the large quantity of data transmission.
