The high power microwave sources are needed in the experimentation of microwave chemistry. But the fluctuation of output power is often met. If it happens our experimentation will be disturbed. So the power output technology of HPM sources is very important in the field of microwave chemistry.But the technology of generating high power microwave is very complex, and especially the change of working condition of magnetron can lead to fluctuation of output power. So the steady output power is hard to be gotten without the perfect control circuit and control methods.But we hope to have the steady output power to make chemistry reaction steady. In this paper, an automatic system for power output of HPM sources controlled by microcontroller is introduced. By this system the output power sampling can be gotten and disposed, and the control parameter can be gotten by the increment manner of digital PID control arithmetic. According to the control parameter, we adjust the magnetic field current and the output power can be controlled.Firstly working theory of magnetron and several methods to control the output power are introduced. Then the defects in tradition methods are analyzed. According to this, a new way to control the output power is introduced and the process of realization of hardware and software are detailedly described.In this paper, the analysis and design of the system are completed. As the improvement of the system, the problem of the fluctuation of output power must be solved.
