The development and change of the world military affairs situation and force bring forward a higher demand to Radars which play an important part in the weapon equipment. But there exist some problems of the traditional Phased Array Antennas, such as the huge cubage,electromagnetism interfere and narrow band problems. So another new technique—Optical Controlled Phased Array Antenna was put forward, and was highly concerned because of its advantages such as wide band,low loss,immunity of electromagnetism interfere,light heavy and small cubage. Optical Controlled Phased Array Antennas development quickly by the day by day maturity of opti-electronic technology,and there have been designed several True Time Delay approaches to realize Optical Controlled Phased Array Antenna. Fiber grating True Time Delay and OEIC True Time Delay techniques are investigated and discussed in this paper.We can realize wide band microwave scanning by using the choosing reflect characters of Fiber Bragg Gratings and Chirped Fiber Gratings. True time delay technology used by fiber gratings has the advantages of wide band,good select frequency character,small cubage and flexible design, but it cannot integrate other array units and makes system complex. We fabricated a Fiber Bragg Grating delay line in which there are two Fiber Bragg Gratings with different Bragg wavelength by a Phase Mask in this experiment, and calculate correlation formulas of Chirped Fiber Grating delay lines.The integration theory, technique and application of photonics equipments and optoelectronics systems on a same underlay are the major research of OEIC, and make the photonics system micromation and integrated. The application of OEIC in Phased Array Antenna will reduce the cubage, heavy and cost of antenna system, and advance security of it. With maturity of the OEIC material, technics and apparatus, the realization of OEIC Phased Array Antenna is becoming more and more impossible. Till now there havenot appear the integration of all the units which Phased Array Antenna needs, such as laser,EOM,splitter,photon-detector and amplifier. At last an assume of a new true time delay structure that combines Bragg grating and OEIC is put forward in this paper.
