Images containing faces are essential to intelligent vision-based human computer interaction, and research eforts in face processing include face recognition, face tracking,pose estimation,and expression recognition.However,all of these researching directions involve in one,problem--face detection and location. In other words, before this face processing, we must know faces locations and scales. Consequently, to build an automated face processing system which analyzes the information contained in face images, robust and efficient face detection algorithms are require.The research on face detection has lasted for more than twenty years. But, up to now,due to the complexity of the purpose such as the diversity of face paterns, variable lighting condition and so on, many researches can not resolve the problem completely even if they have studied it for long time. In this thesis, the author has done some work on the face detection about color image.The work includes:1,present a skin color area segmentation calculation based on the two-color space idea.Result s of different levels have been achieved in the face detect using different color space.But the Interchange of skin color space often adds to the calculation imperceptibly. This text talks about skin color segmentation using the idea of color space based on RGB and HIS ,thus improving the performance efficiency and the whole capability of the face detection system.2,find a method to decrease the area searchingUse a morphlogy structure element matrix which has the ability of adjustment itself to make The morphology calculation . Get rid of the accessory around the face ,thws, decreasing the window scanning and improving the calculation efficiency .3,Use the experience of Tv dark balance idea to make pretreatment on the pictures .The picture treating usually emphasize the treatment on the reference of Reference White.But it neglects the correcting of the relatively dark areas in the picture .Therefore it is not accurate enough to make face segmentation detect using the skin color. The color of the relatively dark areas such as hair and glasses can be renewed and corrected through the adjustment of dark balance, thus impr ooing the accuracy of the skin color segmentation .4,Study the face detection method using the Bayes,LDA verification based on the masaic picture obscure structiure.
