With the rapid development of IT, information has played a more and more important effect in process of China's economic and social development, the development of hospital also faces the opportunity of information. The hospital management has been based on computerized platform, network and database, which has became the focus of more and more hospitals. So, developing and using a high performance HIS can improve the management of hospitals remarkably, improve the quality and make efficiency. The degree of hospital information is divided into three periods by medical system, such as period of Hospital Information management System (HMIS), period of Clinical Management Information System (CMIS), and a period of Geographic Management Information System (GMIS). The way things stand, the domestic researchers have done a lot in the HMIS and received a lot, however, The CMIS has been not designed and development systematically.Aims at the demands of the local hospitals in Clinical Management information, designing the Ward Management and Real-time patient care System (WMRS).As for the WMRS has a multi-platform feature, using JAVA to realize the main system. For the system have communicated with ward devices in the WLAN, and collect the various physiological data of patients, the bottom software was realized by C language. The whole system development has based on B/S module, used module mode, and has good expansibility.Starting with the WMRS developed and implemented by the author, we expand on the entire developing course of development in the paper, and discuss the technology related. At first, this paper introduces the state of the art of domestic and abroad, develops background and the main research contents. And then, it analyses the user's requirements, designing and implementation, and expand on the related technology used in the WMRS. At last, we summarize and put forward the chance and challenge of WMRS.
