MANET (Mobile Ad Hoc Network) is a temporary self-managing wireless network consisting of mobile nodes without depending on the existing fixed backbone or base station. The goal of such MANET is to instantly setup a powerful communication network, to provide efficient services for data and multimedia transmission. Because MANET is a novel network and can be used in military and civilian applications, it becomes a hot topic in network research recently.MANET has many characteristics such as mufti-hop and dynamic topology. Therefore the existing routing protocol cannot be used in such a special net. This paper mainly analyzes the node mobile models and their influence to the routing protocols. Moreover, the probability density function of different node mobile models have been researched, the result has been proved by Matlab.First, the concepts, classification, characteristics, node mobile model, the routing protocols and the current research status of MANET are introduced. Then, the detailed introduction of the node mobile models has been given. Of all the mobile models, the Random Direction Mobile Model has been widely used. This paper proposes the precise formulas of the node space probabilistic distribution in three-dimensions, which is based on Random Direction Mobile Model. Then, the differences between TORA and DSR in Random Waypoint Mobile Model are given. Finally, the probability density function of Pursue Mobile Model has been researched.Second, this paper uses Matlab to compare the trail data and theoretical data of probability density in Random Direction Mobile Model, and uses OPNET to compare the routing protocols in Random Waypoint Mobile Model. In the simulation, this paper compares the TORA and DSR in the jump, throughout and delays. Finally, Pursue Mobile Model has been researched. The probability density function with one dimension and two-dimensions is given.
