With the increasing development of laser, the application of laser has penetrated into a variety of fields such as science, technology, militia and social development. How to construct a proper laser model is a popular and significant topic for scholars to discuss and study, and so is how to define and measure its parameters.Laser's far-field divergence angle is one of its important functional criteria. It not only reflects the laser divergence in the distance, but also can be regarded as the important foundation for laser re-formation. In this paper, the introduction is made of laser classification, application, and the special features of laser beams. The study is made on the laser spot radius, several basic parameters and measurement methods. The essential discussion is focused on the divergence angles of Gaussian beams.On the basis of the analysis of laser spot radius and the measurements of several parameters of divergent angles, the further analysis is also made of the soft ware and hard ware of measurement device. The measurement is made on the laser beams supplied by He-Ne laser device by means of measuring far-field spot size in the distance and common optical fiber sensor. The use of CCD contributes a lot to the collection of the data and the analysis is made of laser beams'distributive strength by means of the intelligent soft ware for light intensity distribution measurement device, namely, WGZ-III developed by Zhejiang Optics Apparatus Manufacture Co. Ltd. The distribution of laser beams' intensity leads to such important spatial parameters as oscillation modes of laser device, divergence angle of laser beams, the power of laser beams, laser radius etc.The comparison is made between the divergence angle of far-field measurement of CCD and the divergence angle measured by common optical fiber sensor (photoelectron diode) and the discussion is made on experiment error. This comparison and discussion lead to a better accuracy of measurement. The input data by this model and the actual data are compared to find the concerned parameters on the basis of the known parameters measured by laser. And finally certain evaluation is made on the function of the known laser.
