The Research About User Management In Digital Library

With the accelerating pace of digital library construction, library launches a full-scale network information services. The digital library network system possesses such features as wide-area distribution, open architecture, shared resources and access to the channel. Although these features increase the utility of the network, at the same time, they inevitably increase the vulnerability of the system which makes the digital library network security have to face severe challenge. Spreading of network virus, hackers' malicious attacks and network information security need of readers (users) are higher demands to the digital library network security.This thesis, on the premise of understanding and mastering the principles of cryptology, as well as the latest research results, has done some work about the application of cryptology in user management and copyright protection of the digital library as follows:1, The thesis, through a comparative study on various definitions of the digital library and analysis of their similarities and differences, presents a relatively precise definition for digital library and its fundamental elements, that is, digital library is a cultural institution which using modern computer technology (including network technology, storage technology, encryption technology, multimedia technology, etc.) as well as information technology to collect, process, sort and store the digital information resources, then through network transmission and distributed management to provide readers (users) with personalized service.2, The thesis, by constructing the physical topology structure model of digital library, points out that server group is the core of digital library and is safeguard of data services; besides, mass memory is the physical carrier of digital library; and what is more, user is an important composing in the digital library system model.3, The thesis brings forward the safety issue to the digital library systematically, which points out that digital library is of six security features such as physical security, data security, system security and network security, application safety and user safety. It also highlights the importance of user management in the digital library security system. 4, The thesis, through investigation and research on the commercial companies' measures in user management and copyright protection, makes a special study of issues existing in user management in digital library, and what is more, puts forward my own solutions and safety analysis in the user authentication and resource transmission, etc.5, The thesis makes use of zero-knowledge proof technology to solve the problem of copyright protection of digital library, and moreover, proposes my own design model, and points out its feasibility.
