This paper presents a closed-loop control scheme for controlling the temperature distribution of furnace using the recently developed stochastic distribution control techniques. This control algorithm is helpful to deal with some dynamic characteristics existed in combustion process, such as, large delay, large lag, nonlinearity and time-varying. The main contents of the thesis are summarized as follows: (1) At first, the burning process of boiler is simulated to obtain the data of temperature distribution in furnace using software Fluent. (2) An equivalent model is established using the B-spline functions. (3) The combustion control scheme based on stochastic distribution control techniques is presented in this paper. And the performance index of furnace temperature distribution control system is given too. Based on Particle Swarm Optimization and gradient approach, two control algorithms are obtained respectively. Control of temperature distribution of furnace both in the static process and the dynamic process have been performed during the combustion process. The results of simulation show that the temperature distribution of furnace can be made to track an desired shape rapidly. Hence the higher quality of boiler combustion control system is obtained.
