Research On Ajax-based Thematic Resource Building Tool

Since MOE launched the "School to School Connection Network" plan in 2000 year, the importance of the educational resource database is recognized increasingly. People also realize that resources are the foundation of teaching and learning activities. The government and enterprises have developed some Educational resource center (ERC) which contain abundant resources. To some extent , Those Educational resource can meet the needs of educational resources for the K12 schools. However, facing Thematic learning—a new teaching method, these Educational resource can't give the teachers and students satisfactory support. The main reason might lie in that the organization of the resources doesn't match thematic learning.The mainly research work of this thesis includes:1. Through massive literature research, the author summarizes the origins, component, construction, cases of thematic resources. In conclusion, the author sketches out the elements of thematic resources and the organization form of these elements, which is the form of theme—activity—resource.2. After the research of metadata standard such as IEEE LOM, CELTS-3, the author determines the metadata of theme, activity and resource.3. Based on the theory mentioned above and the concept of User Centered, the author designs and develops the thematic resource unit building tool. Users can create, edit, export thematic resource unit; Users can also search and inherit the existing works.Theme-based instruction is one of instructional methods that are fit for new curriculum reform, and the thematic resources are the foundation of thematic instruction. The author aims at promoting the emergence of more and better thematic resources and giving the teachers and students satisfactory support on thematic instruction.
