Computer-Aided-Instruction (CAI) is a new method for modern teaching, which will transform current way of teaching greatly. As a result, the development of software for CAI language study is on the threshold.This thesis focuses on the implement scheme of CAI system with the computer-aided languages teaching. Based on the main characteristics of CAI and elementary theory of voice and speech signal processing, it introduces a CAI system for offering computer-aided language teaching a all-around way of learning English. This software is programmed using Visual Basic , certain advanced teaching software and the Internet. The system consists of three language study modules: vocabulary study module, grammar study module and pronunciation study module. In the process of implementing this system, the article attaches importance on the periodicity of pitches and delta- pitches , the estimation methods for PC-derived cepstral coefficients, delta-cepstral coefficients and some languages recognition methods based on vector quantization ,Gaussian model mix and hidden markov model, with reference to the design of pronunciation study module . In addition ,it makes use of Matlab, a powerful computer drawing tool, for the design of speech testing and man-machine conversation box. Furthermore, this software can instruct students to accumulate resource and search for information using the network. This function of the software features the favorable interactivity of network, and makes full use of high grade resources for students to speak courageously and joyfully. With vivid pictures and contexts and beautiful interface, this software is visual and well designed with good interactivity and high information capacity. A great many multimedia means are made to meet the students requirement of viewing ,listening ,speaking and thinking. And many kinds of practice will solidify the learned knowledge and update at appropriate time to satisfy the need for students to make progress.In order to evaluate the effect of this CAI language learning software, the author chose the female technical secondary school, the third middle school and center of vocation and teaching in the city of Jiaozuo as the test classes. During the classes, the teachers adopt this new-style experimental mode , CAI language learning software for teaching English. By analyzing the feedback of students and teachers ,we are happy to see that students have great interest in studying and deeper inner desire to learn so as to strengthen their conversation abilities and improve their grades and the capacity to create .The one-side instruction of teachers are changed into bilateral exchange between teachers and students. Consequently, it promotes the ties between them and encourage teachers to improve their own qualities and operation abilities in a invisible form .In conclusion, the effect of CAI system as a computer-aided language teaching is obvious.
