Recently, Web Services have a rapid rise because of its standard protocols and low coupling. However, along with more and more enterprises and organizations deploying and using Web Services in their system, the problem of information sharing and cooperating among different organizations' Web Services becomes the bottle-neck in growth of Web Services. Now this problem is a research focus. Intelligent composition based on Semantic Web creates new applications to meet end users' needs by combining several services; it brings a new solution for the problem. With the growth of the Semantic Web technology, Web Services and the Semantic Web give birth to another new technology--Semantic Web Services. The Semantic Web markup language can be used to describe the semantics of Web service and make them computer-interpretable entities. Web Services composition can be more intelligent and the result can be more precise by using these semantic information.This paper is based on the National 863 Project and Natural Science Foundation, and do the research of the key technology of intelligent composition based on Semantic Web, including Semantic Web markup language, Semantic Web description model and services composition method. After systematically doing the research of Semantic Web description model (OWL-S) and analyzing its advantage and disadvantage compared with traditional description model, this paper proposals a system of intelligent services composition based on template (ISCS). The paper also enriches OWL-S with the expression power of users' preferences. After that, it gives a specification for the template and the key algorithms of the system and describes the components of ISCS. After describing the core algorithm in ISCS, The prototype then is implemented using Java programming language. At last, an example of translation is given to verify the validity of the architecture.ISCS uses template to describe users' requirement and uses OWL-S to services discovering and services binding by making use of the facility of template and precise...
