For active homing system of torpedo, the reverberation is the dominating interference in shallow water. Because the reverberation is generated by the acoustic signal transmitted by the active homing system, so it has a great different with general interference, it is dependent on the transmitted signal greatly, it is nonstationary, and strongly colored. So it is necessary to have a research on the signal detection in reverberation in shallow water. In this paper, a detailed study about the signal detection in reverberation in shallow water is made.Firstly, the related basic detection theory and the knowledge of reverberation is presented, then the reverberation models and detection methods being used is discusseed.Secondly, local stationary colored reverberation model and the block matched filtering and block prewhiten matched filtering detection methods which based on the model is studied. The principle how to cut the data into blocks reasonably is discussed. The block matched filtering and block prewhiten matched filtering detection methods are implemented. The detection performance of the two detection methods is analyzed.Thirdly, the K distribution cumulative distribution function, the 2k order origin moments of K distribution, the parameter estimation based the two and four order origin moments of K distribution are deduced comprehensively. The generators of K distribution random numbers are analyzed also. All this work about K distribution provides some theoretic foundation and methods to the study of the statistical distribution model of reverberation envelope after matched filter and the detection method based on the envelope after matched filter.Fourthly, the statistical distribution model of reverberation envelope after matched filter and the detection method based on the envelope after matched filter is studied. The simulation and analysis of the method is performed also.At last, based on real reverberation data, the local stationarity of real reverberation is analyzed, the practicability of the block matched filtering and block prewhiten matched filtering detection methods is confirmed.
