The shaft part is one of the most familiar parts in engineering, with a feature of a revolving body. With the help of development tool ObjectARX for AutoCAD, the paper uses the VC++6.0 programming plat to understand and to recognize the shaft engineering drawing with DWG format.This paper scan two-dimension(2D) engeering drawing from three-dimension (3D) viewpoint, catching the essence that 2D engeering drawing is used to present 3D body. Firstly, some correlating detail algorithms and idea such as 3 view division, 3 View local coordinate establishion, Feature construction method, Basic geometric body model and Detail feature model are presented and their results are realized in ObjectARX. Secondly, to resove the above idea and models, another algorithms and idea such as Dichotomy scaning line algorithm, Maximum adjacent coordinate scanning line algorithm, Searching local coordinate origin point algorithm, Origin point integerizing and line-moving algorithm, Geometric body assembly idea, Maximum geometric extent box idea and Sellecting Collection idea are created in this paper. Finaly, the 3D feature construction idea is used to understand and recognize the 2D engeering drawing, and 3D reconstructing and computer automatic exercise-correcting for a shaft part using as examples are present.
