Research On Grid Workflow Server Supporting Automatic Configuration

Workflow is the computerized facilitation or automation of a business process, in whole or part. It is concerned with the automation of procedures where documents, information or tasks are passed among participants according to a defined set of rules to achieve, or contribute to an overall business goal.Workflow management system is a system that completely defines, manages and executes "workflows" whose order of execution is driven by a computer representation of the workflow logic. Along with the rapid development of computer and network, the application scope of WFMS is not limited in special fields and already extended to distributed and heterogeneous environment, such as grid environment.The flexibility, reliability and extendibility of grid WFMS are very important for its applications. In this paper, we analyze and discuss the design of grid WFMS architecture and some essential problems. A new architecture of grid WFMS supporting automatic configuration is proposed in this thesis.
