With the development of information technology, computing environment is around everybody and everywhere, so smartphone, as the communication tool between the man and the environment, becomes more and more important. As well, the software structure of smartphone should be revised to response this. This paper proposes a new smartphone middleware named JBundle to meet these new demands.JBundle uses the OSGi framework which meets the Java running environment on smartphone to be the container, to manage all the JBundle components and application bundles. Besides taking account of the reusability of software components, JBundle proposes the concept of Sector-Oriented, which will enhance the flexibility and convenience when facing different application scenes. The main innovative points include:Based on the research and comparison of related techniques, we propose a structure of smartphone middleware called JBundle which is based on OSGi. We design and implement JBundle. We propose a new idea of managing the smartphone applications through Sector, which is implemented by Sector Manager Bundle in JBundle. Finally, we give a use case to represent the usability of JBundle.
