Nowadays, X-CT is widely used in medical diagnosis, mechanical reverse engineering, non-destructive detection for industrial product, research of geology, archaeology and so on. However, the conventional 2D and 3D reconstruction algorithms need great computational costs, for example, the conventional filtered backprojection (FBP) algorithm needs almost 10 mins to reconstruct a 1024x1024 image, which is unacceptable to modern industrial and medical inspection, therefore, original reconstruction algorithms should be vastly improved to meet the requirements of modern CT inspection. This paper researches most popular CT reconstruction algorithms based on above mentioned situation, it mainly includes following content:1. Describes CT's operation principle, math model of images'reconstruction and Radon transform and reverse Radon transform, then proposes a fast FBP based on researching of the standard filtered backprojection reconstruction algorithm. The proposed fast FBP is based on reconstruction of a sub image from a reduced number of projections.
