The structure of the image tracking systems and some basic techniques used in the image tracking and correlation matching are studied and discussed in this paper. The applications of SUSAN operator used in edge-detection and corner–detection are introduced in detail. And a new weight SSCD similarity measure based on SSCD similarity measure is presented and discussed and compared with some other methods. Finally we used a sub-template policy in template extraction and template update, which can reduce the affection of occlusion and rotation effectively.In this paper, a new method for image correlation tracking based on the method above is presented, which can extract the image feature and select the intensity template using SUSAN operator, then make the accurate location and reliability analysis using feature matching, at the same time which can overcome the unfavorable effects for correlation matching caused by the small size intensity template, by use of feature weight on correlation matching. The experiments demonstrate the feasibility of approach.In addition, a novel design and implementation of relay protection and testing system is introduced in this paper. This software system includes 22 modules, three of them are introduced in detail. This system can measure and verify many technical parameters of various delay devices.
