Currently, software radio technology has become a hot topic in the field of radiocommunications technology, and has attracted wide attention at home and abroad.Taking history of the development of radio communication, radio communicationsystem has already undergone a course of development from analog to digital, and ismoving in the direction of software radio. The ideal software radio technology will bea "pure digital" and "pure software" radio, and most of the functions can be achievedthrough DSP software programming. Virtual software radio technology is a new trendof software radio technology. The differences between normal software defined radioand virtual radio is that the virtual radio does not use special digital hardwarecontrolled by software or DSP chip, but from the perspective of computer systemresources, taking full advantage of workstation to realize software radio.This thesis realizes a virtual radio receiver, based on studying the basic theory andrealization technology of virtual radio, and signal processing, which include thefunction of automatic modulation recognition. And it goes into the functions of differentmodules of the hardware platform such as PCI interface, A/D module, FIFO, and CPLDin details. Under the circumstance of Windows2000, driver program and userapplication program are developed.
