Research And Design Of Content-based Video Retrieval System

Content-Based Video Retrieval (CBVR) system is a system which structures the video data and uses the still features and motion features to retrieve the wanted videos by similarity degree. CBVR combines the theories and technologies of database, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and statistics, and it is one of the most active hot points in the current research fields such as the computer vision, video database, data mining and so on.This paper, firstly discusses the present domestic and foreign research situation and developing tendency on CBVR; then studies the key technologies and methods on CBVR, and particularly studies the automatic threshold algorithm and its improvement; and then discusses the basic concept of the content-based video segment retrieval, researches the means of video segment retrieval and the similarity of video, gives the performance evaluation standard of video retrieval; finally, this paper designs a general framework of the content-based video retrieval system, implements an experimental system, and proved by the experiments, the experimental system has better retrieval efficiency and accuracy.
