Our thesis focuses on how to reduce response delay of the requests and improve the fault–tolerance ability.Firstly, a C-Load Balancing algorithm is proposed in this thesis. The mechanism of this algorithm is that a corresponding request is allocated to the server with the lowest load according to the degree of effects on the server and a combination of load state of server. Experimental results suggest that this algorithm can balance the load of Web cluster servers effectively, specially, a better results can be made in those aspects of heterogeneity cluster servers and dynamic Web page, and our algorithm outperforms some traditional load balancing ones.Secondly, an architecture with a good fault-tolerance detection is designed and developed in our thesis. This architecture falls into self-detection, heart-detection, monitor-detection, exception-processing and cooperation module. In this system, the target of fault-detection is to monitor the state of the cluster server. Generally, any loss and destroy of the information stored in server ,and exceptionally halt have heavy effects on the service ability of server. Therefore the continuous operation of servers is required. And the fault-tolerance detection architecture developed can enhance the high availability of the system effectively...
