With the development of Internet,the application based on reliable multicast is becoming important more and more.Multicast on traditional Internet is hard to deploy for the problems such as ACK implosion, NACK implosion and severe congestion.In contrast,because Active Nodes in active network are programmable, the nodes can process the data transferred via them as application wish. Therefore the generation of reliable multicast based on active network happens.In this thesis,we firstly discuss several familiar reliable multicast algorithms based on active network.Then thesis proposes two reliable multicast algorithms based on active network:RMER for error recovery and AMCC for congestion control.RMER makes the best of active service in active router and so that it solves the problem of feedback implosion and retransmission nuisance.The algorithm includes four mechanisms:loss detection,NACK handling,local recovery and scoped retransmission,so it can be used in the area of reliable multicast.AMCC adopts TCP throughput formula and it makes the best of active server in active router to as to achieve inter-protocol fairness.In the end of the thesis NS modeling language is implemented and the thesis give a evaluation.The experiment results show that these two algorithms are reasonable and they have some practical use. Our work further confirms that active network has an distinct advantage over traditional network and become a promising network computing platform in the future.
