Target tracking is an important aspect on radar data processing. Usually,α-β-γfilter, Kalman filter, Paticle filter and adaptive filter, including adaptiveα-βfilter, adaptive Kalman filter which are applied to maneuvering target tracking have been used for project. As micro-electronic developing,α-β-γfilter, Kalman filter, adaptiveα-βfilter and adaptive Kalman filter are applied to many project fileds including communication, radar, navigation, automation and so on. This paper proposes an improved adaptive Kalman filter based on researching on these filter theories and using DSP and FPGA implement a radar data processing system.This paper originates from a radar signal process project. Firstly, the paper's backgroup and significance are showed. Secondly,α-β-γfilter, Kalman filter, extended Kalman filter are illustrated. Kalman filter andα-β-γfilter are simulated, illuminating the result of the two filters. Then maneuvering target tarcking and two important models which used for maneuvering, that is, Signer model and in current statistical model are introduced. An improved adaptive filter is proposed based on researching on adaptiveα-βfilter adaptive Kalman filter based in current statistical model. These three filters are simulated, comparing the result. Finally, software and hardware design of a radar data processing system are illuminated.
