Software reuse is regarded as approach to solve the software crisis, promote efficiency and quality of software production. With the development of component technique and the technique of component-Based Software Development , which made the component library as a primary role of material warehouse of software component. How to find out the necessary component in the useable software warehouse is a difficult problem which need to solve.This paper introduced facet-Based classified and description of component retrieval. But along with increasing useable components in different domain, retrieves the component in the huge general component library, users can not fully to understand the component, but on the other hand it is very easy to understand the software component in the single domain. Constructs the specific domain of component library, because the component only is restricted in the sole specific domain, the quantity cannot too be big, the component facet and the term also does not need to consider to expand, moreover uses as far as possible the domain professional term, no longer uses the synonym, enhance component search efficiency.The paper's main work as follows:(1) Under exploration component library retrieval method, author has form the facet classified pattern of component of water resources domain from several kind of typical components classifications pattern.(2) In view of characteristic of the component facet description, use tree matching thought and related theories, analyze the retrieval of facet description -based in field of water resources management and compare with which in field of general component library.(3) The paper has designed and realized the prototype system of component's facet retrieval in water resource management domain. And introduce the realization of main function module and compared the efficiency and property of retrieval.(4 ) The paper summarized the main work, and proposed the next stage work. The research goal and the significance of this paper lie in: Through the proposed component facet description and its retrieval method in water resources domain, enhanced the component query performance, reduced the cost of software reuses, and achieved improves the software product quality in end.
