The zero power device is a typical equipment that is used in the experiment research of nuclear engineering and nuclear physics. The control and protect system is a so-called nerve center of the zero power device, it is the most important device to ensure the zero power device to operate safely and effectively and to carry safe protection on it, and it can be used to carry out the remote control of the zero power device, to achieve normal starting, safe running and protection, and to meet the requirement of various physical experiments.The control and protect system includes safe block of electromagnet safety protection system unit, safe block of transmission control system unit, regulate stick control system unit, and neutron source control system unit. The main technique of this system is to design a complete control interlock, ensuring the device can run safely and effectively. Control interlock is the important condition according to the collecting signal which coming from the site of running, analysis and synthesizing the state, sending the control and protect signal to every unit according to the certain rule, and conducting the device to move safely.The technique by combining PLC(Programmable Controller) with FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) is used to construct the control and protect system for the zero power device in this paper. Various control technique is adopted, the advantages of PLC and FPGA is used, and a redundant control and protect system is designed.By using of Allen-Bradley modular programmable controller of SLC-500 and its relevant functional modules, and utilizing the ladder shape diagram language, the PLC control and protect system can be designed to collect, insulate and handle the interlock control signal, to operate PLC period scanning, and to complete the logical...
