Along with the Internet scale growth, the Internet users and the applications are all in the fast growth, the congestion has already become an extremely important problem. Supposing the congestion control algorithm is not used in the Internet, the occurrence of congestion collapses can seriously reduce the network performance. Regarding the Internet stability, the congestion control algorithm used in the Internet has the extremely vital significance.The Internet protocol architecture is based on a connectionless end-to-end packet service in use of the IP protocol. In this architecture, end-to-end congestion control plays a very important role in keeping the stability of the Internet. There are two primary components in end-to-end congestion control: one is the link algorithm executed by network devices, such as routers or switches; the other is the source algorithm executed by host computers or edge devices. Link algorithms detect congestion and generate feedback information, and in response; source algorithms adjust their sending rate.This thesis discusses several kinds of main TCP congestion control algorithm as well as some classics active queue management (AQM) strategy, explains the latest researches and the achievements in the network congestion control part and reviews the state of art in Internet...
